Odette-Adriana Alexandru

I am the other Executive Producer at The Insane Artist - which is really just a fancy way of saying I’m less the captain of the ship, and more the one with a mop in one hand and a whistle in the other, keeping the ship afloat, the lights on, and the dream alive..

I am the co-founder of The Insane Artist, the one who said, “Yes, let’s do this!” when sanity whispered, “Don’t.”

I am the creator and co-creator of multiple projects, the writer who refuses to put the pen down, and the story discoverer who knows magic hides in the strangest corners.

I am the oldest in the team, which doesn’t mean I slow down. In fact, I’m the runner among runners.

I am the main janitor when it’s needed (and it’s needed a lot). Yes, I clean up the chaos I create - that’s leadership.

I am the proud mother of Octavia (The Insane Artist) - my greatest blessing - and her lucky talent manager.

I am also the chief motivator and cheerleader of our other Insanely Talented Artists, because brilliance needs both courage and applause.

I am the talent scouter, the location scouter, the one who spots genius where others see “ordinary.”

I am the co-owner, full-time carer :), and feeder of our team’s emotional support cat, Ciupi.

I am proud of every hat I wear, every project I push to life, and every laugh along the way. Because at The Insane Artist, I don’t just work — I run, I write, I scout, I create. I clean. I am.

Storytelling is my first language - on screen and behind the lens. I grew up on set - before I could even walk - first as a model, actress and dancer, and later as a creator and filmmaker. Born in Romania and raised in the UK, I trained at leading performing arts schools and prestigious youth theatre companies, which shaped the discipline behind over 22 years of experience across film, television, and stage.

Curiosity put me in the crew tent early; today I write, produce, edit and lead filmmaking. I’m deeply passionate about photography, which I also teach to empower other creatives.

In 2015 I started The Insane Artist as an online platform for creatives; it has grown into a production company, creator’s hub and platform taking stories from spark to screen. I’m also the creator and executive producer of Interviewing the Villain Kids - born during lockdown from my character work and a desire to explore empathy with more depth. The most meaningful messages are from viewers who say a character helped them understand a friend, a family member, or even themselves.

Committed to continual refinement, I work in concert with a gifted team and an esteemed network of collaborators - cultivating ideas with rigour and carrying them from conception to screen.

On screen, I’m the performer; behind the lens, I’m the author—using the camera as a pen and the edit as syntax—what André Bazin called the auteur’s signature, I call passion.

Film is my passion, and I put my whole self into every project. From a simple video or photo to a full-scale production, I contribute with both my technical knowledge and creative input to turn ideas into something visual, emotional, and lasting. For me, it doesn’t matter how big or small the project is - if there’s a story to tell, I’m all in.

My background in theatre, where I worked across lighting, sound, video, and stagehand roles, gave me a broad technical foundation and a strong eye for live performance. That versatility carries into film work, which spans documentaries, promotional projects, music videos, experimental pieces, and narrative films.

At The Insane Artist, I’m the Technical Director, overseeing all behind-the-camera departments and making sure each production reaches the highest standard. Beyond the technical side, I contribute creatively to the storytelling and style of our films and interviews. I also collaborate with freelance professionals, building teams with the right skills to bring every project to life.

When I’m not behind a camera or in the editing suite, I’m usually around music. I occasionally DJ, and I think rhythm and pacing naturally influence the way I cut and shape films. What keeps me inspired is collaboration, fresh ideas, and the chance to create something meaningful every time.

I’m a multidisciplinary artist passionate about bringing ideas to life through visual arts and digital media. From freelance 2D commissions to exploring VFX and CGI, I thrive on creating work that feels personal, polished, and immersive.

My background in game pipelines, 3D modelling, and quality control has shaped a meticulous eye for detail, while my collaborations with The Insane Artist have challenged me creatively in many ways.

Beyond technical roles such as sound operator, set designer, and camera operator, I’ve also developed the craft of interviewing and presenting.

Today, I am one of The Insane Artist’s presenters, working across documentaries and interviews - a role that allows me to combine creativity, communication, and storytelling to engage audiences.

I’ve always been drawn to the energy of film sets, where structure and creativity work hand in hand.

As a 1st Assistant Director, I enjoy keeping productions organised and running smoothly, making sure the vision comes together without losing sight of the details that matter. I’m also passionate about scriptwriting, writing stories that feel engaging and true.

My background in film production gave me a strong understanding of how films are built, from story and structure to the flow of a shoot.

Working with The Insane Artist has allowed me to put that knowledge into practice, taking on roles as a 1st AD and creative collaborator across documentaries, interviews, and other projects.

For me, it’s all about teamwork, focus, and the shared drive to bring stories to life.

I’m a media professional passionate about telling stories that connect across film, television, and digital platforms. My experience spans a range of creative and production roles, with a strong focus on my work as an interviewer, presenter, and director in documentaries and TV productions.

For years I trained in dramatic arts at LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art), gaining a solid foundation in performance and communication. That training opened the door to opportunities with The Insane Artist, where I developed further as an acting coach and creative collaborator.

Today, I contribute as one of the company’s interviewers, presenters, and directors, leading conversations and shaping stories for the Working on My Dream series as well as many other video, film, and TV productions.

I hold a degree in Media Studies from the University of Portsmouth, where my dissertation Video Editing in the Age of Social Media received the award for Best Dissertation. Together, my academic background and dramatic arts training have sharpened both the creative and technical sides of my work, enabling me to deliver content that engages audiences with clarity, authenticity, and impact.

For nearly 30 years, I’ve been passionate about computers, video games, and comics—not just as hobbies, but as worlds full of strategy, creativity, and imagination. That mindset naturally led me into management and operations, where I’ve spent over two decades developing skills in leadership, organisation, and problem-solving.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, alongside certifications in Lean Organisation Management and a Diploma in Education and Training. I’m also exploring blockchain and cryptocurrency, expanding my knowledge in emerging technologies while keeping a strong grounding in traditional management.

At The Insane Artist Productions, I bring my experience in management, strategy, and operations while often stepping in as a consultant on projects where my lifelong love for comics, games, and storytelling adds a unique perspective. I believe that running a production company is a lot like building a great strategy game: success comes from clear goals, strong teamwork, and the creativity to turn challenges into opportunities.

And if there’s ever a tough day? Well, I just remind the team: every hero’s journey has a few boss battles.
